How to stop dog from going to the bathroom in babies room?
We have a 3 week old baby and 2 dogs. The youngest dog has started to pee and poop in the baby’s room where we change him, but he does not yet sleep in there (this has happened twice). We try to just keep the door closed, but she tries to open it and when it happened the second time, I had forgotten to close the door. We worked a lot with the dogs before baby came home and since and she seems interested and to like the baby.
Any ideas to make this stop?
The dog is feeling threatened and/or neglected. Make sure you are giving the dog all the attention you can, and make sure you give positive reinforcement when he goes where he’s supposed to.
Keep the door to the baby’s room closed. Dogs can’t turn knobs, so that shouldn’t really be a problem. If there’s no knob, go to the hardware store and buy a cheap latch for the door.
