Crib Dresser
Today I picked up the crib, changing table and dresser for the baby….Should I put it together now?
I just picked up everything today, and was wondering if I should put it all together or wait, or just check to make sure everything is in the box and nothing is broken.
The thing is that, Dec. 28 we will be shipping most everything in our house besides clothes/utensils overseas to England. It takes approximatley 3 months to get there. Im not due until the 1st week of May, but by the time it gets there it will be almost April. Plus I don’t want to get there and something be missing.
We leave Feb. 1st to head over there and I already plan on keeping at least the car seat and Pack n Play with us just in case. What do you think?

Since you need to ship things abroad, yes, you should not only check but also put things together. We had a broken/chipped piece for the crib, and had to call the manufacturer to have it shipped to us. The piece was made in Canada and had to be shipped to Seattle first, then to us. It took 6-8 weeks. The store wouldn’t do an even exchange b/c they didn’t have any in stock.
Also, you might want to assemble any other pieces, should you have any questions, or having to return something to the store to get another one, it’s better from here in the US than abroad. We’ve had cases for boxed furniture where there are 2 pieces on opposite sides, and the box has 2 pieces for the same side. Luckily we could take it back and exchange it at the store.
Keeping the car seat and pack-n-play is a good idea if your baby is born ahead of time. The hospital won’t allow you to take the baby home unless s/he is a car seat.
