Why does my pet cockatiel love my toes?
My adorable little bird loves my toes! He loves sitting next to them, singing to them, talking to them and biting on the toenails (not hard). He will literally follow me around my apartment (walking on the floor) in order to stay close to them. I often wonder if he thinks they are babies? Strange concept I know. Does anyone have an answer or a bird that does the same bizarre thing?
I thinks his fascination started when he first spotted my pretty toenails painted, but now he loves them painted or not.
Ha, Yes I had one that did the same thing, a Cockatiel is probably the best bird you can get, if you want to have contact with them. I also have a parrot that thinks my fingers and teos are demons but the cockatiel on the other hand is gentle and yes he has conversations with my feet for some reason, I’m not sure why they do it I think they just like to be next to their handler, and I don’t mind that one bit. I had another one for a few years that did about the same thing, so I guess it’s pretty commin with them to have relationships with toes and fingers.lol. For the most part cockatiels just have a good personality and are very friendly, unless you don’t care for them then they can be mean, so you must be pretty good to your bird.
