babies vomiting mucus
Questions about babies and colds.?
- How old is your baby now?
- How old were they when they go their first cold?
- Was this your 1st child or 2nd? If it was your 1st did you seem to get stressed out easily by it?
- How severe was it ( did it lead to any other illnesses like croup, ear infections etc )?
- How long did it last?
- How did you help any discomfort your baby had?
- How did you deal with night time & their sleeping/wakefulness?
- Did your LO have any change in appetite? If yes, how long did that last for?
- Did they ever cough too much & vomit up formula & snot, or just snot.
- When they were starting to get better how did they act? Did they still produce as much mucus, did they eat more, did they have a worsened cough that sounded like they were trying to get things out ( like flem etc. )?
My son is 4 months old now (1st child) and got his first cold at about 9 weeks. It lasted about a week or so..Longest week of my life!! He had a hard time breathing b/c he was stuffed up.. I would put the shower on super hot and close the door to allow for the steam to clear him up. I could not find a decent nasal aspirator so the steam is what helped the most..it would at least loosen everything up. It changed his appetite for about a day or so.. but soon went back to normal. I also put our humidifier on in the bedroom. I used a normal humidifier and not the Vicks one.. apparently it doesn’t work as well.. which was a bit too late for us since we already bought it.. He was in a basinette at the time and I raised the head end of the basinette just a bit.
