Wondering if anyone can help me out on this one in History????

I am doing a research paper on the “Baby Boomers” Era, and I need to know where to find some PRIMARY sources. Primary sources are those sources that include autobiographies, Interviews, Speeches, Videos etc. Keep in mind, I do not need SECONDARY sources. I need PRIMARY sources. Anyone know where I can look for this for baby boomers. I know it is a topic that won’t supply many primary sources, but I am sure there are videos that talk about the baby boomers era.

There are LOTS of primary sources, especially for the history of the Baby Boomer generation (I think that’s the period of 1945 – 1964?). Are you looking for the period when the baby boomers were born or when the baby boomers grew up?

Some of the things I’d look at include:
Historical New York Times and LA Times
Old television shows like “Wait ’til your Father Gets home” “I love Lucy” “Leave it to Beaver” (which might be a little late, actually)
Movies from the period

My question for you is how are you planning to narrow down your topic? It’s pretty large, so until you can sit down with your secondary sources and pose a question that is specific, my very brief list won’t be of much help. an example of such narrowing is this: right now, you are doing a paper on the “Baby Boomers Era.” That’s HUGE! So, start brainstorming and thinking about what part of the era, what interests you? for me, I’m interested in gender roles, so I might ask a preliminary question like this: “How did the media outlets of the 1950s shape the attitude toward childrearing?” I’m also interested in the economics of the post-war period, so I might ask a question like “How did the economics of post-war America affect birth rates?” Etc. Until you ask a _specific_ question, you can’t really choose your primary sources effectively because different primary sources help for different topics. Census returns (available online I think) can help with the second topic, but magazine ads in Saturday Evening Post or Harper’s Bazaar and other such mags would help with the first question.
