babies talking early

babies talking early
How early can babies talk?

Now, Im not saying my 8 1/2 month old baby is talking but….

I was changing her bum, and I said “oh dear” and she said it back… She said it clearly, and to me it sounded like oh dear. Of course I know she was just copying the sound, but isnt that what talking is?

She says mamma and dadda and babba but not in context.

My son is ten months and says all sorts of unintelligible stuff!
Well he says Dad and Mum a lot and Bub and Nan and that sort of thing. He does sometimes say Hi and Hey and when asked asked him if he wanted more podge (porridge) he said “mur podj”. and i explained to him a picture of a fish was called a fish and he said “dish”. i swear sometimes he is saying my name too. but hey, most of it is all babble and god knows what he’s really saying, i’m probably making it all up!
