ALL THE PHOTOGRAPHERS OF THE WORLD How can my face become photogenic?

My baby pictures have always looked wonderful but now that I am grown up. My photographs look less prettier than my original face. I havent really been to many professional photographers in past few years. How can I make my face look photogenic? Colors like orange, etc really look good on me. Does doing color combination or whatever that is will make me look good in photo. Please share your kowledge with me. Please also tell me some interesting things about photography.

Okay–after over twenty years in this business there are a couple of things I can tell you–
First of all–you–my dear — are the absolute worse critic of your own photos as anyone who ever walked the planet !! Sorry, but any and every individual has a certain way in which they want to look and most of the time– people are simply unhappy with the way they look in photos as A PERSONAL THING–usually people are FAR too hard on themselves—I have seen shots that a person’s entire family and full run of friends were literally jumped-up over–and THEY were just disappointed as the dickens because they just didn’t thing they looked good at all !!!

One thing I can tell you that might help you come to a look that you’ll be happy with— Get with a professional make-up artist or at least someone who is extremely good AT makeup—do some experimentations— try a couple of things and do a couple of shots—try something a little different — take a couple more shots– eventually you are going to hit on a makeup combination that works well in YOUR eyes on camera– and there’s your ticket !!

Photogenics is one thing that after all this time in the business — I still haven’t got a pin down on—-I know it has to do with a combination of things– bone structure– skin tone– coloration– balance of features etc —but how it ALL works is still a mystery to this day— I have taken some fairly plain looking folks in front of the lens– and — BANG– out of nowhere– these photos that are simply stunning– for no real reason other than the people were just simply and superbly photogenic—at the same time — the reverse has happened to me on many occassions — I’ll have someone in front of the camera that I’m thinking is going to actually burn up the set— we get the shots done– and it’s like someone else is on the film—can’t get a good shot with a shotgun and an attitude !! Major mystery that !!!
