My baby has plagiocephaly(flat head)?

My daughter is 5 months old and was diagnosed with mild plagiocephaly(flat head). The neurosurgeon said that it would fix it self with time. He also said that we could try repositioning her and if that didn’t work by the time she was 1 then she might need to wear a helmet. Just wondering if any moms went through this with their babies and if it fixed itself without the helmet and how long did it take? Also is 1 too old for the helmet to work?

My son is 5 months, and I’ve been working on the flat side of his head since I noticed it at 2.5 months. I sleep him in the crib so that when he turns his head towards us (away from the wall), it is not on the flat side. In other words, make sure the part of his head where the hair is worn off in the back is not touching the mattress. My son had a MAJOR problem, and now in 2.5 months it has gone mostly away.

I also took him to a physiotherapist at 2.5 months to help him turn his head (which is why he had a flat part in the first place), and it really worked.

Good luck!
