babies developmental milestones chart

babies developmental milestones chart
My 12-month old doesn’t really speak words, he babbles?

The milestone chart says he should speak about four words. My son, who just turned one just says “da-da-da” sometimes throwing in a “te-da”. He goes “aaayyyy” and then claps when he does something he is usually rewarded for. He doesn’t say words yet is very vocal and sounds passionate about things but the sounds are still “da-da-da”. I get concerned because his pediatrician forces vaccinations and I’ve heard a lot of horror stories about some of the vaccinations causing developmental delays (esp. affecting speech) in boys. I don’t really trust my pediatrician since she gave him more than the agreed upon ‘two vax per appt’ at his 1 year well baby appt. I thought I’d toss this question out to other mothers. He hasn’t incorporated new words into his vocabulary since 9 months old.

Keep prompting and encouraging him. It helps. :)
